Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 26, 2026
At SIIS ('Set It In Stone'), we prioritize your privacy by design. Our architecture ensures that we never see the contents of the files you secure. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle the minimal data we do collect.
1. Data We Do NOT Collect
Your File Content: We process your files locally on your device using client-side SHA-256 hashing. The actual file content never leaves your browser and is never uploaded to our servers. We only receive the cryptographic fingerprint (hash).
2. Data We Collect
To provide our service, we collect limited information:
* Technical Metadata: The file hash, file name, and file size (required to generate your certificate).
* Account Information: Your email address (if you join the waitlist or sign up).
* Payment Information: Processed securely by our payment provider (we do not store your credit card details).
* Usage Data: Anonymized metrics on website performance.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use this data to:
* Generate valid RFC 3161 timestamps and IPFS proof records.
* Send you your digital certificates via email.
* Manage your subscription or credits.
* Comply with legal obligations.
4. Data Storage and IPFS
Please note that the cryptographic proofs (containing the file hash and timestamp) are stored on IPFS, a public, decentralized network. This is necessary for the permanent verifiability of your proof. Once published to IPFS, this record cannot be deleted (it is immutable). However, because it is only a hash, your original file content remains private unless you choose to share it.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
* Access the personal data we hold about you.
* Request correction of inaccurate data.
* Request deletion of your account (note: public blockchain/IPFS records cannot be deleted).
* Withdraw consent for marketing communications.
